Testudog

Quadruped robot for the IEEE Robotic Quadruped Challenge. Established 2023.

Wheels are for cowards.
Balancing is incredibly difficult, requiring low-level control of twelve quasi-direct-drive motors, custom leg design, and a chassis packed around exactly that job.
Built, not bought.
Every circuit board, mechanical system, and line of software is the team's own work over several iterations. No kits, no shortcuts.
Started as a challenge.
An offshoot of Qubo, started in 2022 to chase a harder class of problem. Two years later it stood on its own at Maryland Day, Spring 2024.
